Srinagar encounter ends, sources say terrorist may have escaped in the dark

New Delhi: The siege in Srinagar's Ahmadnagar area ended on Thursday after the terrorist, who was trapped in the area, managed the escape in the dark, sources said. Despite assurance from Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that ceasefire violations will be curbed, terrorism has reared its head in Jammu and Kashmir.

Four policemen were injured on Wednesday after terrorists lobbed a grenade at the security forces in Ahmadnagar in Srinagar. The grenade attack was followed by a gunbattle after which police sealed off the area as one terrorist from the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba was believed to be trapped in the area.
