Kashmiri students beaten, forced to shout anti-Pak slogans in Greater Noida



NOIDA/SRINAGAR: Three Kashmiri students from a private university in Greater Noida have alleged that fellow students misbehaved with them and forced them to shout anti-Pakistan slogans, drawing a sharp reaction from the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister who said UP authorities should admit their "inability" or "unwillingness" to protect them.

The latest incident comes two month after over 60 Kashmiri students were expelled from a Meerut university after cheering for Pakistan cricket team during an Asia Cup match against India.

Pakistan violates ceasefire again, fires at Indian posts in Samba




JAMMU: Heavy exchange of fire erupted on the border as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire yet again on Tuesday morning — the eight in the last four days — targeting Indian border posts in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"There was firing by Pakistani Rangers on Narianpur border out post (BoP) in Ramgarh forward area in Samba district around 0730 hours", a BSF officer said.

Pakistani troops fire across LoC in J&K




Heavy firing continued between Indian and Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) Tuesday in Poonch district of Jammu region.A defence spokesperson said Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions in Digwar sector along the LoC in Poonch district late Monday night.

"The unprovoked firing at our positions started at 10 pm yesterday. We retaliated and the exchange continued till 2 am on Tuesday morning.

Six killed in BSF firing at Jammu protest over mosque entry




Jammu: Six people were killed when the BSF fired at protestors outside their camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district today. Several people were also injured in the incident.

Ramban is 151 km from the state's winter capital Jammu. Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, who was rushing to the spot along with DGP Ashok Prasad, confirmed the death of four persons. He said a large number of people have been injured and rushed to different hospitals.

Pakistani prisoner attacked in Indian jail dies: hospital official



NEW DELHI: Sanaullah Haq, the Pakistani prisoner who  was attacked in an India prison in Jammu last week, died in the Chandigarh Hospital on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

“His condition was extremely critical. He died early morning,” a senior doctor at a government hospital in Chandigarh told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Ranjay, who was admitted to the Chandigarh hospital in a serious condition, had suffered renal failure late Wednesday, the doctor said.
