Benazir murder case: Court adjourns Musharraf’s indictment to Aug 20




RAWALPINDI: Ex-military ruler Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday failed to appear in court to be indicted over the murder of former premier Benazir Bhutto due to what police said were security concerns.

Musharraf, who ruled the country from 1999-2008, had been summoned to face charges of criminal conspiracy and the murder of Benazir in December 2007.

Bugti murder case: ATC orders authorities to produce Musharraf



QUETTA/ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta on Monday ordered the authorities to produce former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf before it in a case pertaining to the murder of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akber Khan Bugti, DawnNews reported.

During the hearing of the Bugti murder case, Balochistan’s former interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao appeared before the ATC.

Benazir murder case: ATC orders authorities to produce Musharraf on July 9



RAWALPINDI: During Monday’s hearing of the Benazir Bhutto murder case, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi categorically ordered the authorities to produce former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, the main accused in the case, on July 9 before it as it adjourned the matter to the said date, DawnNews reported.

The ATC was hearing the case pertaining to the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

One of the accused persons in the murder, Aitraaz Shah’s application requesting bail was presented in the court, which was accepted for today's hearing.

SC adjourns Musharraf treason case indefinitely



ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the treason case against former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for an indefinite period to hold consultations over setting up of a special court to hear the case against the ex-army strongman.

Moreover, the apex court also rejected a plea to order the formal arrest of Musharraf citing that no formal charges against the former president had been put before the court.

Akbar Bugti case: Arrest warrants issued for Shaukat Aziz, Pervez Musharraf



QUETTA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former dictator Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz in connection with the Akbar Bugti murder case on Monday, reported Express News.

The arrest warrants were issued due to repeated absence from the court. The former governor of Balochistan, Owais Ghani and former deputy commissioner of Dera Bugti, Samad Lasi were also included in the list of issued arrest warrants.

Treason case: Musharraf’s counsel requests for formation of larger bench



ISLAMABAD: The counsel for former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has once again asked for the constitution of a larger bench of the Supreme Court to hear petitions seeking treason charges against him.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, has been hearing a set of petitions seeking the initiation of a treason case against the former army strongman.

Musharraf wants polls under army



ISLAMABAD: Chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) retired general Pervez Musharraf expressed on Monday his desire that the elections should be held under the supervision of army.“I have always stated that the polls should be held under the supervision of army. Otherwise there will be law and order problem. And then the polls will not be fair and transparent,” said Gen Musharraf in a brief chat with reporters at his luxurious and heavily-guarded Chak Shahzad farmhouse soon after his arrival from Karachi.
