ISLAMABAD: Industries are being set up across Punjab and foreign investors would be provided investment opportunities in a bid to boost the economy.
This was stated by Chaudhry Mohammad Shafiq, Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment during a meeting with a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI).
“All options are being explored to provide uninterrupted power supply to the industry so that growth would sustain and more jobs are created,” the minister said.
“Punjab government is in constant liaison with the electricity generation companies of China, Australia, Japan, Germany and other local and foreign investors for joint ventures to improve the energy supply situation especially to the industry in an effort to keep its wheel moving,” he added.
The provincial minister said that the federal as well as Punjab governments were focusing on the alternate energy resources including solar, biomass, biogas and wind in addition to main electricity generation components of hydro and thermal.
